Safety Instructions

WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious injury, death, or damage: Read all instructions before use. For household countertop use only. Do not immerse cord, plugs, or body in water. Unplug when not in use or before cleaning. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. Operate on clean, dry, level surface. Do not place on or near hot gas/electric burner or in heated oven. Use handles for hot surfaces. Do not open brew chambers during brewing to prevent scalding from hot water/steam. Always place vessel under brew basket. Fill reservoir with water only; do not overfill or run without water. Use only #4 paper cone or permanent filter with grounds. For Ninja Pod Adapter: Do not put fingers inside (sharp needles). For Carafe: Do not microwave, use on burners, or clean with abrasives; do not use if cracked or handle loose. Supervise children; keep out of reach. No extension cords. Clean weekly to prevent bacterial growth.

Installation

Wash all removable parts in warm, soapy water or dishwasher (top rack). Place on clean, dry, level surface near 120V outlet. Set clock: Press HR/MIN, dial for hour/minutes, press START BREW to set. For high-altitude: Run calibration brew (hold BREW STYLE and HR/MIN until beep; discard water). Prime: Fill reservoir to Full with cool water, run Full Carafe Classic (no coffee), discard water, rinse carafe.

1. Plug into grounded 120V, 60Hz outlet.
2. Set clock and run high-altitude calibration if needed.
3. Run priming cycle to flush system.

Brewing with Grounds

1. Fill reservoir with fresh water to desired line.
2. Open sliding lid, place #4 paper cone or permanent filter in brew basket, add medium-ground coffee per measurement chart (use level Smart Scoop scoops).
3. Close sliding lid until click.
4. Select serve size on dial, brew style, place carafe/mug (lower platform for single-serve), open Drip Stop, press START BREW.

Brew times: 3-10 minutes. For Over Ice: Fill vessel with ice first.

Coffee Measurement Chart (Grounds)

• Sm Cup: 2–3 small scoops (2–3 tbsp)
• Cup/XL Cup/Travel: 3–5 small scoops (3–5 tbsp)
• XL Travel/1/4 Carafe: 3–5 big scoops (6–10 tbsp)
• 1/2 Carafe: 4–7 big scoops (8–14 tbsp)
• 3/4–Full Carafe: 4–7 big scoops (8–14 tbsp)

CAUTION! Use medium grind; do not exceed measurements to avoid overflow.

Brewing with Pods

1. Fill reservoir with fresh water to desired line.
2. Open sliding lid; ensure brew basket clean, no filter.
3. Place Ninja Pod Adapter over basket, push down to seat.
4. Slide handle to LOCK.
5. Place compatible pod in holder (do not remove foil top).
6. For high-altitude pods: Press down on pod to puncture bottom.
7. Close handle until click; select size (up to XL Travel), style, place mug, open Drip Stop, press START BREW.

CAUTION! Use only compatible pods; do not force or use reusable K-Cup filters. Clean basket before inserting adapter.

Care & Cleaning

After each use: Allow to cool, remove and rinse brew basket/adapter/carafe/reservoir under warm water. Wash with mild soap; dishwasher-safe (top rack for most parts except Pod Adapter). Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Weekly: Run water-only cycle; clean reservoir (dishwasher bottom rack upright).

Cleaning Pod Adapter: Open handle, wash needles and holder with soapy water (hand wash only). Cleaning Sliding Lid: Slide out, wash, reinstall.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning; allow to cool. Avoid abrasives on carafe.

Descaling

Run when Clean indicator lights or "CLn" displays (every 3-6 months for hard water). Use descaling solution or 1:1 white vinegar-water. Select mode (Grounds: lid closed; Pods: adapter inserted). Place empty carafe; fill reservoir to Full with solution; press CLEAN and START (75 min cycle). Rinse: Empty/wash carafe and reservoir; fill with fresh water, run Full Carafe Classic (Grounds) or 12 oz. Classic (Pods); repeat if needed.

1. Prepare descaling solution in reservoir.
2. Run Clean cycle; do not remove carafe.
3. Rinse with 2 water-only cycles until no odor.

Troubleshooting

Display Messages: End (complete), Add Wtr (low water - add and resume), CLn (clean now), STOP (cancelled), Er ## (contact service).
